                          Reset Word to default settings

 Most problems with Word can be fixed by resetting it:
  1. Close Microsoft Word.
  2. Click the Start button (Windows XP users should then click Run).
  3. Type regedit and press Enter.
  4. Navigate to:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER -> Software -> Microsoft -> Office -> 14 -> Word.
    (The number 14 could be different depending on your version of Office)
  5. Double click on the Word folder.
  6. Right click on the Data folder and click Delete.
  7. Close the Registry Editor.
  8. Try using Microsoft Word again.


              Set Microsoft Word 2010 back to default settings

  1. Open a new document, click on the Home tab, click on the Font dialog box button as shown in the screenshot below, and select the Font tab.
  2. Choose the font settings that you would like to make the default and click Set As Default.
  3. Select All documents based on the Normal.dotm template?
